Lady Gaga Movie Based on Maureen Callahan Book in Works

She's only 25 but it appears that superstar singer, dancer, songwriter and iconoclast Lady Gaga is having her life thus far turned into the subject of a movie. It's being reported widely on Oct. 6, 2016 that the project is almost a certainty, though it's hard to say where the original source came from.
And why not a film? Lady Gaga, born Stefani Germanotta in New York, may be young but, like other superstars such as 17-year-old Canadian singer Justin Bieber, she's crammed a great many experiences and a lot of living into her relatively few years on the planet.
Film Based on Life of Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga herself is not involved in the movie, to be called Fame Monster: The Lady Gaga Story and being written by Norman Snider, a Hollywood screenwriter who wrote the Kevin Spacey film Casino Jack and, among many other scripts, the TV movie about high-class prostitute Heidi Fleiss.
Of perhaps greater interest is the news the film will be based upon a book about Gaga called Poker Face: The Rise And Rise Of Lady Gaga, written by Maureen Callahan, who has written for 'MTV' and 'Spin' magazine. A major source for Callahan was David Ciemny, Gaga's tour manager for the first year plus of her rise to fame, and Ciemny's wife, a personal assistant to Lady Gaga.
Poker Face: The Rise and Fall of Lady Gaga came out in September of 2010 and was not an entirely flattering account of the pop star. There are accounts of Lady Gaga on crash diets and claims she had to be hospitalized numerous times in 2009 because of sweet food binges followed by stringent diets. There are allegations of her firing people for minor indiscretions and being unpredictable.
Lady Gaga Movie Rumors Started....
As for where the original source was from that broke the story, the Canadian daily newspaper, the National Post, said it was Billoboard.biz who broke it, but that site ran a story which said it was written by a staffer of The Hollywood Reporter (THR). However THR didn't include where the information they based their story on came from.
One thing sites said was the company which is pursuing the project is Lifetime, a U.S. television cable network that specializes in woman's programming. There has been speculation but no word on who might direct the film and who might play Lady Gaga.
No start date as yet.
